Jane Danielson's Adventures

Living her Dream - Seeing the World

Well Costa Rica anyway!
Jane's Own Story about the picture on the postcard:

It's a picture of a beach on the Pacific that is miles of national park. And it was in this park that we got lost for 28 hours! We started off at the first ranger station and were planning a 6 hour hike to the next station. After 9 hours of hiking and wading through 2 very deep rapid rivers we decided to turn around. By the time we got to the second river we had passed, the tide had come in and we definitly couldn't cross, so we made our umbrella and wet towel shelter under the jungle trees and tried to fall asleep in the pouring rain. I must have been laying on some crab's home because she kept poking me and telling me to move. After a few hours of non-sleep I went to look at the river to discover that the tide had gone back out. I roused unwilling MaryBeth and we started our 6 hour hike back.

When we finally arrived back at the first ranger station, everyone was happy to see us since we had never arrived at our intended destination. They showed us on a map that we had gone double the distance we needed to and had twice waded through, and made our bed by a crocodile infested river!!! We were happier than ever that we had made it back with all of our limbs. I personally decided that hiking was not what I liked best and prefered the rest of the trip that was spent lounging on beaches, riding horses and dancing 'til the wee hours of the morning (and making friends with monkeys).

So, you can use this story however you want! Missed you all at the reunion!
Love jane of the jungle

Jane went to Costa Rica with a girlfriend who had friends there. It was nice to have a home base, but it didn't keep them from wandering the country, from coast to coast and into neighboring countries, Panama and Nicaragua. Their tickets were good for 3 months, but they saw it all in two. They missed friends and family and had to get back for the Toronto Jazz Fest.

They made friends everywhere - even with the monkey. Her postcard reads: We were camping on a beach on the Pacific Ocean. At first the monkey stole our mayo, and eventually, he ended up sleeping on us! So cute!
