Eric and Betty in Cancun - 2001

The Annual Gathering of the F. Family

As usual we visited Cancun in January and stayed the first week at The Royal Islander. Rik, Wendy & Paige as well as John and Linda joined us. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the warm weather. While the young ones romped on the beach, Mom and I floated around in the pool. And when the younger generation frequented the discos at night we seniors sat on our terrace and looked out over the Carribean Ocean. Our villa is situated right on the beach and the view is magnificent. Our wedding anniversary always coincides with our stay here. This time we celebrated our 47th and we were taken out for dinner by the young ones. We were treated to gigantic Carribean lobsters and we had a great time. But the time goes quickly when you are having fun and soon our guests were on their way back to the Middle West.

Mom and I moved down the road to our second place, the Vacation Club International, VCI for short. This is a lower profile establishment with gorgeous landscaping and we like it very much. But we were sad that our travel companion sister Ruth was not able to join us as originally planned. She and Uncle Mike spent many enjoyable vacations with us here. But we are hopeful that Aunt Ruth can be with us next year. This was the first time Mom and I have been alone in this place. We spent most of our time at the pool socializing with the many guests that frequent the VCI. On February the 3rd we headed back north with many good memories and a lot of pictures.
